The premier issue of the Norway.com Magazine was presented to Knut Vollebæk, the Ambassador of Norway to the United States, at a Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce luncheon in Seattle on May 25, 2007.  The luncheon crowd gave the Norway.com magazine high marks for its stunning beauty, graphical design and in-depth content.

Hundreds of Norwegian American enthusiasts gathered at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington DC on Sunday, September 18th, 2005.  In attendance were their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja, Princess Ragnhild and Princess Astrid, Vice President Walter Mondale along with other officials in the Norwegian American community.

The Norwegian American Foundation awards grants to total $100,000 in 2005 to Norwegian American organizations.

A bronze statue of HRH Crown Princess Märtha will be unveiled on September 18th, 2005 on the Norwegian Embassy grounds in Washington, DC.

As tributes are made to Norway for the Centennial of their Independence this year, an interesting question comes to mind.  How many Americans are there with Norwegian Roots?

The 17th of May is celebrated because this was the day in 1814 when the constitution was written and signed.  Norway did not gain full independence however, until 1905.  Read the story here...
